On April 29, 2026, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officially initiated the SwachhSurvekshan 2025-26 campaign at Town Hall. Led by Shri Yudhvir Sethi (MLA Jammu East), Shri Vikram Randhawa (MLA Bahu), and Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), Commissioner JMC & Mission Director SBM Urban 2.0, the event established a comprehensive roadmap for urban sanitation and social health.
Modernizing Waste Management
A new fleet of door-to-door (D2D) waste collection vehicles was flagged off to ensure 100% service coverage across all wards. This critical infrastructure upgrade was supported by a ₹1 Crore contribution from HDFC Bank under the Parivartan Pariyojna.
The Citizen Feedback System
A core pillar of this year’s survey is the direct involvement of residents. The newly launched digital feedback platform allows citizens to share their views on the quality of municipal services, evaluate the cleanliness of public and community toilets and report on the efficiency of local waste collection and dustbin lifting.
Cultural Integration & Awareness
To ensure the message of cleanliness reaches every home, a new Swachhata Song in Dogriwas premiered. Sung by Padma Shri Balwant Thakur, the anthem uses the local mother tongue to foster a deeper sense of community pride and responsibility.
Community Challenges
The Garbage Hotspot Challenge was introduced to incentivize the identification and transformation of persistent waste dump sites into clean, sustainable zones through active public-private cooperation.
Social Welfare & Commitment
Beyond physical cleanliness, the event emphasized social hygiene through a collective Drug De-addiction Oath. Officials and citizens pledged together to work toward a drug-free Jammu, reflecting a holistic vision for the city’s future well-being.
