Under the ongoing celebrations of 26^th January 2026 under the theme “Gantantra Ki Awaaz – Swachhata Ke Saath”, Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir organized  platform at Gole Market highlighting the role of Self Help Groups (SHGs) from 19th 2026 to 21st January 2026”. The initiative aimed to promote women empowerment, self-employment and socio-economic development. Members from various SHGs actively participated by displaying and selling tricolour-themed products showcasing local skills, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. The programme also contributed to raising awareness about the importance of SHGs in fostering community participation, economic self-reliance and civic responsibility.
