TANGMARG | APRIL 22, 2026: In a coordinated effort to promote environmental sustainability and expand the green cover of the region, the Municipal Committee Tangmargsuccessfully organized a plantation drive today to mark the global celebration of Earth Day. The event was held in close collaboration with the Bar Association Tangmarg and the Swachh Bharat Mission IEC Team Baramulla, bringing together legal professionals, urban officials, and community mobilizers for a shared ecological cause.

The drive focused on planting a variety of saplings across public spaces, roadsides, and community areas to contribute toward a healthier and cleaner urban environment. During the event, participants highlighted the vital importance of afforestation and community involvement in maintaining ecological balance. The initiative serves as a key part of the ongoing efforts to combat climate change and preserve natural resources for future generations in the Baramulla district.

As part of the Action Plan, the SBM IEC Team, including all three Swachhata Executives and Community Mobilizers, utilized the platform to conduct awareness activities. They educated the public on the critical link between maintaining green surroundings and effective waste management practices under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0. The team emphasized that a clean environment is the foundation for a sustainable and healthy community.
