Under the ongoing celebrations of 26^th January 2026 under the theme “Gantantra Ki Awaaz – Swachhata Ke Saath”, Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir organised Anti- Defacement Drive on 19^th January 2026. The drive was joined by Dr. Devansh Yadav, IAS, MD SBM Urban and Joint Commissioner Subha Mehta, JKAS who actively participated in removing unauthorized posters and restoring public spaces.  The drive aimed to maintain the aesthetic appeal of public spaces and promote civic responsibility among citizens. Officials carried out cleaning, removal of unauthorized posters and restoration of public infrastructure in key areas. The initiative also served to raise awareness about the importance of keeping the city clean and preserving public property. Students participated by raising slogans which further helped in spreading awareness and reflecting the collective commitment to civic discipline and urban cleanliness.
