Jammu & Kashmir, September 16, 2025:

From tomorrow, two major cleanliness campaigns Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 and Seva Parv will be simultaneously rolled out across 80 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Jammu & Kashmir. These campaigns mark a significant step in strengthening citizen-led action towards a cleaner and greener urban environment.

The Seva Parv campaign, launched in line with Government directions, is designed to promote cleanliness and environmental sustainability through a series of impactful initiatives such as Swachhata drives, tree plantation and reduction of single-use plastic across public spaces. It aims to inspire collective responsibility by encouraging active involvement of citizens, students, volunteers and civil society organizations. Activities under this campaign will focus on cleanliness, waste segregation and strengthening waste management practices through door-to-door awareness and the wider use of the Swachhata App.

Alongside this, the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign is being conducted in accordance with the national directives of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. This campaign emphasizes mass public participation, calling upon communities to come together in large numbers for cleanliness and awareness drives. It underlines the importance of every individual’s contribution to maintaining hygienic surroundings, adopting sustainable waste management practices and reducing the dependence on single-use plastic.

Both campaigns complement each other and reinforce the larger goal of building sustainable, clean, and livable cities across Jammu & Kashmir. They provide a platform for citizens from all walks of life to engage in meaningful actions that protect the environment and improve the quality of life in urban spaces.

The Housing & Urban Development Department appeals to all residents to actively participate in these guided campaigns and extend their wholehearted support in making their towns and cities cleaner, greener and healthier for the future.
